Card Background with Inksheets

Hello everyone, Lisa Hoel here with a guest post and mini tutorial for you. We are still having lovely spring weather around here and that inspires me to create flowery, pastel projects. Today I'm sharing a Celebrate card on which I used Sizzix Inksheets and AJVD dies to create the background.

Inksheets are easy to use and will work with any thin dies. The Daisy Die Set worked beautifully to make this background. There is a special platform you need to use with the Big Shot and Sizzix has a handy Starter Kit for it. On to Step 1! (easy peasy!)

Make your sandwich as follows, platform, Inksheets plate, substrate (paper), Inksheet matte side down, dies cutting side down, and finally a clear cutting pad (not shown). Run it through the Big Shot and it will press the cutting edge of the die through the Inksheet (but doesn't cut it) and the "ink" will be transferred to the paper! I repeated this a few times, moving the Inksheet and dies around until I had covered the background paper.

The Inksheets transfer can act as a resist too. Try doing this on white watercolor paper and then adding mists or other colorants over the top. Your transferred design will resist and the white outlines will shine through!
