Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello everyone! Lisa Hoel here with a guest post celebrating Valentine's Day. I have a Zipper Die card to share with you:

Lisa Hoel - AJVD Valentine's Day card

I have a set of Gelatos and I decided that I realllllly need to experiment with them more and use them! I thought they would make a really nice background (they do!) First I stamped a sheet of Ranger Distress Watercolor Paper with the Quatrefoil stamp using embossing ink – then embossed it with Clear Detail embossing powder. I wanted the delicate white lines to resist the forthcoming color treatment. Gelatos are really easy to blend together. I scribbled the colors on my craft sheet and lightly misted them. I then used my finger to pick up the color and apply it directly to the cardstock. The water helped to smooth it out and blend the colors together. When I was happy with the blending, I took a clean cloth and wiped off the embossed lines to remove any Gelatos residue. (Totally simple, I love it!)

Next I trimmed the background to fit my card base and die cut the Zipper into it. (Check out a how it works video HERE.) The sentiment is underneath the pull tab – your recipient tears it back to reveal it. It's a really fun interactive feature to include in a card. Well, I hope you've found some inspiration in my project and can use these techniques in your own creations! Have a great day and carve out some crafty time. ;-)
