Silent Night Watercolor Card

Happy Black Friday! It's Beth, and today I have a card with the new Oh Holy Night stamp set. This stamp set is included in the Black Friday Sale! Don't forget the discount code BF2014!

On this card I started with watercolor paper and 5 colors of Distress ink. I inked up a non-stick surface (wax paper works in a pinch!), spritzed with water and dragged the paper across, added more ink, and repeated until I was happy with the blending of the colors. To speed up ink drying I used a heat tool.

I stamped the Oh Holy Night image in the center of the paper.

Next I lined up the Chalkboard Backdrop dies for the image, and then 2 more to make the frame. Die cut and emboss them.
Add to the center of a card front with 3D Foam Squares. On the frame, I cut the squares in half so they fit the skinny sides.
On the photo corners I added the same colors of ink and then blended with a damp paper towel.

I realize yellow is a non-traditional color for a Christmas card, but it just seemed to go better than the greens I tried. Sometimes you just have to go with it.

Tip: When using textured paper, make sure your stamp pad is nice and juicy so you get a clean stamped image!

Yes, that is snow on the ground in the background of my photos, it is cold here in Chicago!

I used these supplies:
