Christmas with Happy Trails

ADVD, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

Happy Monday!  Merry Christmas!?  That's right.  We're celebrating "Christmas In July" this week at AJVD.  I wanted to share a card with you that I made with "Happy Trails" by Whimsie Doodles, which is a set that you might not deem as a Christmas stamp set.

But, look at what you can do with "Happy Trails".  That adorable little bear wants to be a part of Christmas cards too!  And the set has the perfect trees for Christmas.  All I did was add a little string of lights as an embellishment, and I now have my first Christmas card done for the year!

To make this card, I simply brayered Ranger's Adirondack Sailboat Blue and Distress Ink Faded Jeans onto white cardstock.  With a paint brush, I added dots of Copic White to appear like falling snow in the sky.  I tore some white cardstock to put at the base of my scene to appear as snow.  The trees, stars and bear are all from "Happy Trails" by Whimsie Doodles and were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored these elements with Copic markers and fussy cut with detailed scissors to become part of the scene.  I added the string of lights from Jolee's.  I framed the scene with black cardstock and put onto a white cardstock base.

The sentiment is from AJVD's "Miss Adventures: Celebrate" by Whimsie Doodles.  That was stamped with my go-to sentiment ink, Tsukineko's Versafine Onyx Black.
