Trying the Chalkboard Technique

Hi fans. This is Annette. I'm posting a card that is not like my usual CAS style, but it still works for me!



This is my first attempt at the chalkboard technique. I have to admit, I wasn't sure I could do it as beautifully as some really seasoned stampers, but it worked. I give much credit to my Fiskars stamp press!! Why?

Because in order for the chalkboard technique to work, you first stamp your sentiment with white ink onto dark cardstock. Then, very lightly distressed it to make it look like eraser marks. After the ink dries, stamp the image again with Versamark ink and cover with white embossing powder. Instead of positioning the stamp directly onto the white stamped image, offset it just slightly. Heat emboss it and you're done! The stamp press really helped me with making sure I offset the image just enough to create the chalkboard look.
