Hello. This is Annette. I have a couple of treats for you today. Easter is this coming Sunday, although you wouldn't know it in Ohio! We just had a big snow storm! I'm hoping for warmer temperatures later this week. Easter egg hunting is not fun in the snow.
Let's not forget the real meaning behind Easter. Candy and egg hunts are fun, but it's a time to celebrate the resurrection. The first project I am sharing embraces just that - the resurrection of Jesus. I used the Cross Combo Die set to create all three crosses, The two on the sides were cut a little shorter than the center cross. Before adding the crosses, I cut some watercolor paper, and measured the height of the hill and centered it vertically. Then, using the Tim Holtz water color brush and distress inks, I drew yellow rays to make it look like they were coming from behind the hill. As I got closer to the top of the card, I used more water to make the color gradually fade. Next, I used an orange ink toward the bottom to make the rays look more intense. The hill is an oval. Finally, I distressed the top for the sky and stamped the sentiment. Before placing the stamp on my block, I slightly curved it.
Now for the fun projects - candy holders!! Both of these are files I downloaded from Silhouette America. I cut both of them with my Cameo and adorned them with chicks and sentiments from the {EGG}cellent stamp set.
