Happy Birthday to You

Good morning! Ardyth here with an simple, elegant birthday card, with lots of sparkle!

I started by using my Tim Holtz Stamping Platform to stamp the flowers from Well With My Soul Bookmark with Versamark ink in the top right corner. Then I flipped my panel around and stamped again in the other corner. Using the platform allows you to stamp multiple times (in case you don't get full ink coverage) and flipping the panel and stamping again means that the placement of the two bunches of flowers is perfectly symmetrical.

I then embossed the flowers with silver embossing powder and coloured them with 3 colours of aqua/teal Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a waterpen. This panel is Bristol Smooth cardstock - I find that the markers blend easily with the water on this.

To create my sentiment, I performed stamp 'surgery' on one of the sentiments included in the Happy Birthday Set. I cut the 'happy' away from the 'birthday' with a small, sharp pair of scissors. This is simple, doesn't harm the stamp and gives you more flexibility in placement. You can achieve a similar result by masking the stamp, but you will need to make sure that the stamp is really clean when you use it. Again, I stamped with Versamark and embossed with silver embossing powder.

Once the watercolouring was dry, I 'coloured' my flowers with Stickles, to give them some sparkle! The small tip on the Stickles makes it easy to fill in the petals of these flowers, and since it's waterbased, it helps blend the watercolours even more.
