Hello there, Lisa Hoel here with a Christmas card made with the beautiful new Poinsettia Greetings stamp set.
I decided to choose a color scheme of grey, black, white and red to change things up from the usual red and green. The background is stamped with Watering Can archival ink and smudged around the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink.
The center panel has Distress Watercolor Cardstock as the base. I stamped the poinsettia on the plain paper with Versamark ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then spritzed it with Candied Apple Distress Spray Stain, concentrating the color over the stamped area. I let it fade off in the upper corner for some contrast. The embossed image resists the stain. I also sprinkled droplets of Perfect Pearls Interference Red mist onto it for added shimmer.
The Poinsettia Greetings Die Set matches the stamp set. I used the 'greetings' word die to cut out a stamped version of it. I wanted to have some of the white edges showing around the stamping to help set it off from the background. You could also cut the words from solid cardstock and then use the matching stamp to make a drop shadow for it.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you get a chance to get inky this week!
