Spring Birdy Houses

Hi, Lisa Lara here, sharing my
Skinny Birdy Houses Card
These adorable birdy houses are in a winter stamp set can you believe it?
So I am breathing new life into to it by using it to make this spring card (just another way you can stretch your stamps).  So I used stamp sets In The Meadow, my set Picking Daisies and Pure Gold Satin Sequins Mix made in the USA,  to give the final touch.

I am also playing in this week's Simon Says Stamp

Now for how I made my card.

Yes, I did say Skinny Card.
I started with a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of 110# white cardstock.  I scored in the middle on the short side.
 Sponging Time.
I put post-it notes along the center fold line at the top, then sponged my sky going from the top to the bottom to give an ombre look.
I removed the post-it notes and Voila!
Time to start stamping the birdy houses from In The Meadow.  I started in the center and stamped close to the top.
 Next,
I stamped a little lower with these tow on the sides.
 Then,
stamped the last two a bit shorter centered in between the others, this process is an easy way for even spacing between the houses.
Add the sentiment.
I used this cute little "friend" from Picking Daisies aligned so the "f" hangs over the edge of the roof then the rest lines up with the roof angle.
Now for Paper Piecing.
I stamped my five houses on text pattern paper.

How did I stamp the bird inside the house?
First I made a mask by punching a 1/4" hole on a post-it note.
 Alignment
I placed my mask on the house lining it up with the hole in the house. Then I stamped the bird facing the direction I wanted.
 Removed The Mask
....and see, the bird is inside its house.
 All five
Here's all five stamped with the birdies in their homes.
Color Time
I colored with Copics, then cut them out and adhered to the card front.
Inside
I stamped a sentiment and smiley face using Picking Daisies on the inside.
Finished!
Here's the finished card with the Pure Gold Satin Flat Sequins as the finishing touch.
