Merry and Bright Card

Hi, it's Beth! Today I'm featuring the Majestic Deer Die Set on my card.

Merry & Bright Card by Beth Pingry for A Jillian Vance Design

My original thought was to create a whimsical mounted deer head with Christmas lights in the antlers, but once I die cut the shape, I decided to leave it as is.

The elegant antlers make a pretty silhouette against the green, so I layered the Chalkboard Backdrop die cuts with various patterns to create a focal point.

The stamp is from the O Christmas Tree set.
I cut the deer from the same textured paper as the background, DCWV Pebbled, so it does have some unexpected texture to it. The edges are inked, and I used E-Z Dots Permanent to adhere the head, antlers and papers. 3D Foam Squares give it a pop of dimension between the layers.

I used these supplies:
Majestic Deer die
Majestic Deer Die Set by Whimsie Doodles
Chalkboard Backdrop dies
Chalkboard Backdrop Die Set
O Christmas Tree die and stamps
O Christmas Tree Stamp and Die Set
Other Supplies used:
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L - E-Z Dots Permanent, 3D Foam Squares
Ranger Ink: Distress Old Paper ink
DCWV- Pebbled Stack
Basic Grey - 25th & Pine Collection papers
Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko - Memento Tuxedo Black ink

Have you started your Christmas cards yet? Leave a comment!

Thanks
Beth Pingry
