Silver and Blue Christmas...

Well... hello and happy Thursday everyone!  Rosemary here and yes... usually I post on Wednesday, but for just this week I'm showing up on Thursday!  I have a slimline card to share today that as you can see from my blog post title is done in silver and blue!  I used one of the new Holiday Scripty Greetings and the poinsettia image from the Elegant Christmas stamp set.

A few weeks ago I posted a card on my blog (see it here) where I stamped, colored and die cut an image from the Dear Daisy stamp set and then used the images to frame up my sentiment.  I really liked how that card turned out and was going to do the same thing with this card, but I sort of ran out of steam when it came to coloring the images.  So I decided to use patterned paper instead.  I stamped all the images on some patterned paper from American Crafts (I had previously used this paper on a cards with a similar look) with watermark ink and then heat embossed them in silver.  I die cut all the images with a die that I have from a previously released set from AJVD that matches the poinsettia image perfectly.  I used some silver textured cardstock to die cut the Slimline Stitched Plaid cover die and then adhered that to light blue cardstock.  Then I got to work adding all my poinsettias to the card front.  Some were adhered flush with Just Glue It adhesive and others were popped up with foam dots.  I then trimmed off the overhanging parts.  The Merry Christmas was die cut from the same textured silver cardstock several times, adhered together and then adhered to the shadow backing that I die cut from heavy weight vellum.  That was then adhered in the center.  I finished off the card with lots of little jewels in silver, light blue and dark blue.  Going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of Christmas!
