Introducing Sentimental Script . . .

A Jillian Vance Design's Newest Background Builder Cling Stamp

There is a story behind this scrip, it is not just a script font of words, it is a poem my Dad's Aunt Wini wrote named Eternal Spring in her original handwriting.

It speaks of how "I wish my life would end in the Spring, when flowers bloom and the birds all sing . . . And Heaven will be Eternal Spring."

She passed away in the Spring when I was a little girl but I remember her well. Such fond memories I have to cherish.

Jillian asked her daughter, Martha (who at the time was 84 years old) if she could use this as a stamp and was given her blessing along with the HANDWRITTEN original Aunt Wini had written. Unfortunately, Martha passed last January (2012) before we were able to show her the finished stamp. She was very involved in Jillian's life years before she passed as we would share photos of Jillian to Martha and she enjoyed Jillian's activities in dance and theater. Martha was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2011 and moved to our town to an assisted living center to be near my family.

So the name Jillian chose for this stamp truly is Sentimental!

Whoo's having a birthday?

Lisa here. This week the Design Team is using a sketch the

June 2011 sketch from Page Maps

I rotated the sketch to the right and made it CAS.

Aren't those owl's cute! I stamped them, colored them, cut them out them popped them up with the little one's peeking out from behind Mom.

My card is 5 x 5. My front panel is 4 1/2 x 4 1/2.

I sponged my clouds onto it then added my tree top which is a cloud die, adhered my piece of brown paper I cut out and embossed to look like a branch. Then I stamped the sentiment then added my owls. Popped up my finish panel on to my card base. Finished off with twine.

Sweet As Honey

Hey all. Annette here. Today I am sharing a project I made using a sketch from Cardmaps and pairing it with the fabulous color inspiration from A Playdate Cafe challenge blog. I absolutely love the inspiration photo. I love bold, vibrant colors.

Not only was I inspired by the colors, but so many elements in the photo can be found in my card. The black and white chevrons, the geometric shapes, and the round doilies all make an appearance in my card.

LUCKY INSPIRATION

This week the DT has been showing their projects inspired by this cool photo.

Can you guess how I was inspired?

I was inspired by the invitation at the bottom and the washi tape at the top.

So I pulled out the AJVD Terrific Tapes set.

I cut my panel to 1 1/2 x 4 1/4. I stamped my chevron tape image going down the panel horizontally. I got a messy look because I inked up my stamp each time with a new color without cleaning it. I like the look. I wrapped two strands of Twine around panel, adhered to the back then added staples as an embellishment.

My card is 4" wide so the panel hangs over a little on each side.

I drew light pencil lines as a guide then stamped my sentiment than arrow. I then popped up the panel with dimensional tape.
