you are my anchor...

Hello friends!  Rosemary here with a very masculine card that I made with the Simply Said: Anchor stamp set, as well as the new Anchors Aweigh die set.   Simply Said:  Anchor was the first AJVD stamp that I got and I have always wanted an anchor die to go along with it!  Now my dream has come true!

Before starting my card I went through my large stash of patterned papers and found these papers that have a design on them that you can ink up to bring out the pattern.  I think they are from Tim Holtz, but I'm not sure.  One of the sheets had a woodgrain image on it so I inked that one up with some Brushed Corduroy distress ink and then die cut it using the Diagonal Stripes Cover Plate die.  The paper is not super thick so I cut the cover plate two more times and then adhered all three together.  I found the blue star paper and die cut it using one of the smaller Stitched Dot Rectangle dies and adhered it to the die cut panel.  I stamped the large sentiment with the anchor as part of it on some light beige polka dot paper with VersaFine Vintage Sepia.  The anchor was then die cut from it.   I stamped the image on some paper with a honeycomb pattern with the same ink and then die cut it with a die from the Art Deco Frame backdrop die set.  The die cut anchor was popped up on top and then the piece adhered to the card as you see.  Finished by adhering everything to a blue cardstock base.  Adding this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.
