Joy

Hey y'all! Shelly, here.
Happy Friday!!

Today, I'm swinging in to share a Christmas card with you!
I have tried no line watercoloring in the past and it just didn't seem to work for me. Well, I'm not one to give up, so I ordered myself some watercolor markers to try it out with. I have watercolors in many different forms but hadn't had any markers, so thought why not. ;) Honestly, I probably should have tried watercolor markers a long time ago because I feel much more comfortable with them than with my other watercolors. Funny how it works like that sometimes, yeah?!...

So after a few attempts with my no line watercoloring, this is what I ended up with.

I can't say it's the best but I gave it my best. :) I wasn't sure how to add some veins to my petals and leaves, so I left them alone. Though, I think it still looks pretty?!...With practice, I'm sure I'll learn more things. ;)

I simply used my watercolor marker(s) to outline my petals/leaves and then added some water in the center with a paintbrush and let the watercolor do it's magic. I did work in random areas, away from the wet watercolor, until things were dry. A little time consuming but relaxing and simple after you get a feel for things. After doing my watercoloring, I simply stamped on my 'Joy' sentiment. Sweet, yeah?!...
