Pretty Posies

Hey y'all! Shelly, here.
Happy Friday!!

Today, I'm sharing a fairly simple card with you.
Let me be honest, I was originally trying the no-line watercolor technique and was failing terribly at it. After about 20 attempts or so and still not getting it, I threw in the towel. So I did some more thinking because I did really want to do something similar to it. That's when I thought of other things I seem to be pretty good at and well, how about 'no-line colored pencils'?!...I'm not sure if this technique is out there already or if it's even a technique?...but it worked for me.

I started with stamping my images, which I chose a very light yellow ink. After, I simply used colored pencils to fill in my images. I started with adding color to the outline of the petals and then filled each in, trying to fade out the color going towards the center. I did this same process for my leaves, etc.

I was debating to add a sentiment but decided to let the flowers do the talking. Though, I did add some clear drops and twine. So what do you think?!...

I'm much better at no line watercoloring than I would be with the pencils, lol! This turned out so lovely!! You've given those flowers so much dimension with this technique; it looks like the leaves fade to the back. So pretty! Bev
