Mixed Media Birthday Card

Hello everyone, Lisa Hoel here with a mixed media birthday card to share with you. It's amazing how you can get such different looks using the same stamps and dies. A few weeks ago I shared this card on the blog made with the Quatrefoil Cover Plate and Fringe Flower dies. Here is my new card made with the same  ones:

I applied a torn book page to the patterned paper card base with Collage Medium. While it was wet, I also adhered the background cut with the Quatrefoil die and added another layer of Collage Medium over it. Once everything was dry, I scribbled Distress Crayons (Peeled Paint and Seedless Preserves) onto parts of the background and blended them with a little water and my finger.

The flowers are cut out of coffee filters that I had misted with Spray Distress Stains (Dusty Concord, Ripe Persimmon and Spiced Marmalade). I like using coffee filters because they look like tissue paper but are stronger and you can color them however you want.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful week and a chance to get creative. ;-)
