birthday daisies...

Hello!!  Rosemary here with a fun card that shows you how to stretch your supplies.  More specifically your dies to create your own stamps.  My card today uses the Daisy die set along with the Happy Birthday stamp set.  The newly released Wildflower and Fringe Flower dies would work perfectly, as well.
The AJVD Daisy dies are some of my favorite AJVD dies and I have often thought it would be fun to have a stamp set that matched, but there isn't one.  Then I remembered a project that one of my bloggy friends, Greta, made where she used fun foam and dies to create her own stamps.  I didn't have any fun foam, but that was easily remedied by a quick trip to the craft store.  While I was there I also picked up some repositionable tape so I could attach and then remove my stamps when I was done.  I die cut the flowers using all three dies, as well as the little center pieces for each flower.  I had bright yellow ink sitting out so I used that to create my background using all three stamps.  A little word of warning when it comes to inking up with little flower centers.  Because they are so small and thin you will need to make sure that you either die cut several and stack them before stamping or clean off the excess ink that will get on your acrylic block before you stamp.  Otherwise you will end up with black ink all over your project.  I know this because it happened to me!   I die cut the panel with my trusty Stitched Dot Rectangle die and adhered it to my card base.  The sentiment was stamped in watermark ink on vellum and heat embossed with black embossing powder.  I then trimmed the strip down and adhered to my card.  Since I created my background I'm adding this to the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge.
