warm and cozy...

Hello friends!!!  Rosemary here with a card I made using the newly released Christmas Stocking stamp set.  The set comes with the stocking image, several patterns that can be stamped inside the stocking and the some sentiments.  So many different things you can do with this pretty set!
I started by stamping the stocking on watercolor paper and coloring with my ZIG clean color markers.  Once the stocking was dry I carefully trimmed it out.  I then got started on creating the look of a fireplace.  I started by inking up white cardstock using a brick wall stencil and Ranger Fired Brick distress ink.  Once I got the depth of color I wanted I then trimmed down the piece and then added Pumice Stone distress ink to give the brick a bit of a sooty look.  A piece of woodgrain cardstock was trimmed down and inked with Brushed Corduroy distress ink and then Tea Dye distress ink to create my mantel.  Before adhering the pieces to the dark gray cardstock piece I distressed the edges of all the pieces and then stamped the sentiment from Christmas Stocking using VersaFine Onyx Black.  I distressed the edges of the stocking with some Old Paper ink, adhered it to may mantel and then added some Diamond Ice Stickles.   This was a pretty labor intensive project, but I really like how it turned out.  Since I did add the Stickles I'm going to post this to the current Time Out challenge of Christmas with a twist of sparkle.  Adding this to the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.
