happy birthday to you..

Happy Wednesday friends!!  Rosemary here with a birthday card I made using the Celebrate Cake stamp set.
To get the ombre look on the stamping I used my mini MISTI and some Post-It notes.  I started by stamping the cake plate using Delicata Silver Shimmer ink.  The MISTI allowed me to get a really good image.  Then I got to work creating the sentiment "cake".  I masked off the parts of the stamp that I didn't want inked and inked up the rest of it using a rose colored ink.  Removed the Post It note and stamped.  Repeated that with the same color to get good coverage.  Repeated the steps with the two other pink colors.  Once that was done I die cut the image using a Polka Dot Rectangle Backdrop die.  I added some little stars (using a star from a AJVD stamp set that has been discontinued... sorry!) using two of the inks and then partially embossed around the image with a star embossing folder.  Some Diamond Stickles were added for some sparkle.  Some silver sparkle cardstock was die cut as a mat for the sentiment panel.  Layered everything up on a pink cardstock base.  I'm entering this card in the current Player Players tic-tac-toe challenge (I used die cut, birthday and embossing) and the current CAS on Sunday challenge of sparkle.
