celebrate!!

Happy Wednesday A Jillian Vance Design fans!!  Rosemary here with a graduation card that I made using the AJVD Celebrate die.  As I was thinking of a project to make for today's post I remembered that my niece is graduating from high school next Tuesday (June 14, 2016).  I had recently gotten her graduation announcement and as I looked at it I saw that her school's colors are red and blue so I decided to make a graduation card using those colors.  The announcement also had some silver in it as well so I threw that in to the mix.
The layout for my card is based on a sketch from CAS(E) that Sketch so I will be adding the card to their gallery.  I cut some strips of silver glitter paper and dark blue cardstock and did some arranging to see if I wanted 3 silver glitter and two dark blue or the opposite.  I decided on 3 dark blue and two silver glitter.  A panel of white cardstock was die cut using the largest Polka Dot Rectangle Backdrop die and then adhered the strips using pop dots for the blue strips add some depth.  Then I die cut celebrate four times from red cardstock and adhered them together.  I attached the word to the strips using foam adhesive in certain spots and glue in others.  To make this really look like a graduation card I created a little graduation cap using some of the silver glitter cardstock die cut with a small square die, a little blue brad and some red embroidery floss.  Once I got that together I glued it in to place on the "c".   To finish the card I die cut some of the dark blue cardstock using the largest Rectangle Backdrop die as mat for the white panel and then adhered everything to a red cardstock base. Can I just say that I am super happy with how my little DIY graduation cap turned out?  I think I'm going to use that idea again sometime!

Hey Bunny I must say I was in awe at the professionalism of the card, in fact it looks way better than Hallmark.
Are the designs from your shop all made by you? I see now that for a professional looking diy project you need professional materials and tools. Luckily your shop provides most of the above. Do you have any recommendation in terms of glue or how to get such a clean cut?
