born to sparkle...

Happy Wednesday everyone!!  Hope you all had a lovely Valentine's day!  Rosemary here today with a super simple card using the Simply Said:  Sparkle & Shine stamp set.

I started my card by stamping the large word "sparkle" on some watercolor paper using VersaMark watermark ink, applying white embossing powder and heat setting.  Once that was done I taped the paper to a small wood cutting border, brushed on some water and then added a light pink wash of color using some pink re-inker and water.  (Taping the paper down helps to keep the paper from warping while drying.)  Once the piece was dry I die cut it with a Polka Dot Rectangle backdrop die, stamped the remainder of the sentiment in black ink and then added the sparkly pink stars and some pure gold satin sequins.  The little stars were created using the largest die in the Jingle Bells die set.  I simply cut a strip of the pink glitter paper, laid it across the top of the die where the stars are and ran it through my die cutting machine.  Did this a few times to get the number of stars I need.  Just another way to use your AJVD dies!  Will be posting this card to the current AAA Cards challenge to use sequins.
