Here's Sam E. Snowman . . .Shaker Card!

Jillian wanted a shaker Snowman die so here's Sam E. Snowman!

Sam E. Snowman Die Set
In collaboration with Melyssa from Whimsie Doodles we created a darling shaker snowman with many options! The longer scarf piece doubles as his hat band, you can add holly, a star or a snowflake to his hat or surroundings.  Use the button for his belly and you can make it a shaker card using the inner circle die OR just a plain snowman with no cut out like Jillian did in this blog post.  The inner circle will leave stitching on the negative cut of his belly to give a special accent to your shaker card.

Using Simply Snowflakes Stamp Set, I stamped my Polka Dot Backdrop Die cut out of navy cardstock with Ranger Embossing Ink then using Frosted White embossing powder heat set.  I wanted a frosty chalkboard look so I just rubbed chalk over those embossed snowflakes! Then taking a dry cloth, lightly rubbed over it to show more of the navy background.
How to create a shaker card:
To make a shaker card you will need acetate ~ our packaging bags work great as well as overhead projector sheets.
1. Using the Sam E. Snowman die, ~ with the center circle centered in his belly (you can leave these two pieces attached by the factory wires  or cut them apart) ~ die cut your card stock and craft foam at the same time ~ this ensures your pieces will line up correctly. ( I put my card stock next to the die then lay that on top of the craft foam and run through the Big Shot. The die will cut BOTH pieces)
2.  Using only the outer die of Sam E. Snowman , cut 1 piece of acetate and 1 piece of navy card stock (or what ever color you want the back ground of the shaker to be)  These I do not cut at the same time, the acetate may need a metal plate for a shim if it is on the thicker side.
3.  Sandwich and adhere the acetate between the white card stock and the craft foam.
4.  Flip face down on the craft table, fill with desired sequins, glitter or seed beads.
5.  Place Navy card stock on top and adhere.
6. Flip back over and you have a shaker!
7.  Add accessories!
You can see the stitching around the shaker part of the snowman.  I also used Want2Scrap Baby Bling in Black for his eyes.

Using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares, I popped up the banner and the holly leaves from the Holly & Swirls Die Set
The sentiment is from a new set to be released ~ Frosty. Frosty has great snowman sentiments as well as a primitive snowman to stamp as well.
