Ombre Stamping

Hi fans! Today, I'm sharing a card I created using an ombre stamping technique. Ombre is a term for colors that are shaded or graduated in tone. In the card I made, you'll see that the colors graduate in tone from yellow to orange to red. The dots under the sentiment follow the same pattern. How did I do it?
  1. First, I stamped the sailboats starting with the yellow on the left.
  2. Using my Fiskars Stamp Press, I carefully lined up the stamp and stamped again in a tangerine color, slightly overlapping the images.
  3. I did it again in a spicy orange and one last time in red.
  4. I followed the same pattern with the dots. I inked the yellow, then tangerine, then spicy orange and red.
  5. I repeated the same color palette with the sun, then
  6. I stamped the sentiment and distressed the bottom to look like water before adhering it to my card base.
